Vueling is an airline of the IAG group (The Group includes two full-service operators, British Airways and Iberia, two value operators, Aer Lingus and Iberia Express, and two low-cost operators, LEVEL and Vueling). It is the largest airline within the Spanish territory in destinations and fleet size. It started operations in July 2004 based in Barcelona as an independent airline. Vueling's main base is in Barcelona. It has numerous bases of operations in the rest of Spain at La Coruña, Alicante, Asturias, Bilbao, Gran Canaria, Granada, Ibiza, Madrid, Malaga, Mallorca, Santiago, Seville and Valencia. It also has an international connection centre in Rome-Fiumicino and bases in Amsterdam-Schiphol, Florence, Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly. Since its inception in 2004, Vueling has developed a solid Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) business model, despite facing strong competitors and other external challenges. Over the years, Vueling has demonstrated strong profitability, cash position, and the capacity to compete in highlycontested markets head-to-head with low cost and ultra-low-cost carriers.
